32 Mitsubishi Triton.- 2020
The Triton is our current car as I write this in October 2025...we have had it now for five years and it has travelled 55'000 km...it is the best car we have had bar none. It is only the second new car we have had, the Gemini, (No 18) being the forgettable first.
The Triton, is a pleasure to drive, it is an GS, middle of the rang model and as such it has most of the safety features current today.
It's 2.4 litre turbo diesel coupled to a six speed auto is an excellent tow vehicle, fuel consumption is great too, without the van 7-8 L/100 km is common, with the van, 14 -15.
The Triton is pretty much stock-standard, I did have the rear suspension upgraded to enable it to handle the 2 tonne caravan better, I have installed a catch-can, a canopy and that is pretty much it.
The Triton has the modern ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), installed which are technologies in a car that help the driver by alerting them to hazards or taking over certain driving tasks to prevent accidents. These systems use a combination of sensors, cameras, and radar to monitor the vehicle's surroundings and can include features like adaptive cruise control, (but not on ours) lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. The goal of ADAS is to increase safety and improve the driving experience by reducing human error, though they are designed to assist the driver, not replace them.
So, as at October 2025 the Triton is my most recent car....it is with this car, and my advanced age where I now pay someone to do all the servicing, plus the ten year 200'000 km warranty, I quietly often wonder, will there be another?...damn good question. Time will tell.
